Auditions for the new chorus

Casting Call – York Waggon Plays 2014

For the first time the York Waggon Plays will be performed with a Chorus to tie the stories together and to really welcome the audience in to the story. I will be directing these brand new additions to the plays, seven newly written short pieces penned by local writer Ged Cooper.

The Waggon Plays are a deep rooted part of York’s heritage, having been performed since the middle ages and in recent times revived in many different settings and styles and this is your chance to be a part of it.

There are 12 parts to be cast and we are looking for a good mix of actors. The chorus will represent the everyman so we want all ages to apply, as diverse a group as possible to really represent the people of York.

Performances will be on the 13th and 20th of July around the streets of York, and actors will also need to be available for a full dress rehearsal on the 12th of July.

Auditions will be held on Wed 28th May at 7.30pm, please email to request a place or for more information.

Thank you,

Ruby Clarke, Chorus Director Wagon Plays 2014
