Where to see the Plays

The performances will start in Dean’s Park, near York Minster, at noon and then the waggons will process through the streets to stop and perform at 3 more stations, finishing at the last station at approx 7pm.

The production is in two parts; Plays 1-7 and Plays 8-12 with an interval.

This allows people different ways of experiencing the production. You can buy tickets for all 12 plays in one place, or sit in different stations, or even comfortably watch one part and then explore the city coming across other performances.

In our traditional garden locations of Dean’s Park and Museum Gardens we have covered, tiered seating. College Green is a great space to spread out a rug on the grass. In King’s Square you can experience something of the original sense of the Plays in this new city centre location, which was also one of the medieval playing stations. In St Sampson’s Square we have created a new atmosphere with the feel of a medieval fair. The courtyard of The King’s Manor is a new location for 2014 and has covered, tiered seating. All locations have some space from which the Plays are free to view.
